Dr. Tracey Leger-Hornby, Interim Head Librarian

Joining the Worcester Public Library as the Interim Head Librarian, Dr. Tracey Leger-Hornby brings 30 years of extensive leadership and expertise in academic library management and administration, information technology, strategic planning and consulting. Her vast experience includes serving as Dean of Library Services at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Associate CIO at Brandeis University, Director of the Regina Library at Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire, and in various roles at the Simmons College Libraries. Dr. Leger-Hornby served on the board of trustees of the Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP), and held the offices of chair, treasurer, and secretary. She is co-chair of the ACRL New England Chapter Leadership Development Committee and was co-leader of the EDUCAUSE Professional Development Constituency Group, served on the EDUCAUSE Quarterly Editorial Board, and was a member of the FRYE Institute Class of 2003. Leger-Hornby’s doctoral research focused on women's attitudes toward computers and the implementation of technology in higher education. Prior to becoming the Interim Head Librarian on July 25, 2014, Dr. Leger-Hornby also served on the board of trustees for the Worcester Public Library and recently started her own consulting firm.
