Materials to the Worcester Public Library
Thank you for considering
the Library as a recipient of your donations.
- We are happy to accept:
- Books, audio and videotapes, sound
recordings and DVDs that are in good condition. We
prefer newer materials.
- We do not accept:
- Textbooks (unless they are unmarked and no more than 5 years old).
Books that are in poor conditions, e.g. marked. Torn, dirty, moldy
or smelly.
Old encyclopedias old magazines or condensed works.
-
- How to donate Materials:
- If you have books to donate you may bring them to the Information
Desk on the first
floor of the Library.
If you have many boxes of books to donate please call ahead before
you bring them to the
library, and we will help you unload the materials.
The Worcester Public Library puts many donated books into the
collection; others may
be sold by the Friends of the Worcester Public Library, at their book
sales or in the Books
‘n’ More Store. If you wish a receipt for your donation showing
the items you donated,
please count the number of items given, e.g. 45 books and 10
videotapes, before you
bring the materials to the Library. IRS rules do not allow the Library
to place a monetary
value on your gift. We will be happy to give you a receipt indicating
the number of items
donated.
