American History
American History (ABC-CLIO) Middle and high school databases created to support student research on American History.  It includes teacher resources, primary documents and  student project suggestions.
American History Online A database spanning more than 500 years of political, military, social and cultural history, and highlighting the important people and events of the American experience.
American Women's History Online Covers the important people, events, legislations and issues relevant to the study of women's history in the United States
African-American History Online Provides expansive and in-depth coverage of the people, events and topics important to the study of African-American history.
 
Antiques
Prices for Antiques (p4A) A popular, easy to use, database for the identification and pricing of antiques and collectibles by keyword and broad subject categories.
 
Art
Grove Art Online Online access to the "Dictionary of Art" and the "Oxford Companion to Western Art", that includes over 2,500 thumbnail art images and drawings.
 
Auto & Electronic Repair
Auto Repair Center Covering approximately 25,000 vehicles (cars and trucks) from 1954 to the present, this database includes over 100,000 factory drawings and photographs as well as technical service bulletins and recalls.
Photofact Online Sams photofacts online provides schematics and service guidelines for over 200,000 models of consumer electronic products, radios and televisions produced from 1946 to the present. For both professional repair shops and do-it-yourselfers.

Gale - Biography Resource Center Thousands of full text biographies of individuals from all fields including literature, science, business, entertainment, sports, government, arts etc. are included along with citations to articles with additional information.
 
Book Catalogs
C/W Mars Catalog Search Worcester Public Library's holdings of books and AV materials or expand your search to include libraries throughout Central Massachusetts.
Virtual Catalog Search multiple library catalogs throughout Massachusetts simultaneously with one search.  To place a request, select your region, type in your library card number and choose a pick up location.
WorldCat An online catalog that searches the collections of hundreds of libraries across the US and around the world, simultaneously.  Most items can be requested by interlibrary loan through the Worcester Pubic Library.

Netlibrary-eBooks Electronic books (e-books) that can be read on line covering hundreds of topics including works of literature.  Each book can be searched by keyword

Gale - General Business File ASAP Analyze company performance and activity, industry events and trends as well as the latest in management, economics and politics. The database provides access to a combination of broker research reports, trade publications, newspapers, journals and company directory listings with full text and images available.  
Gale - Business and Company ASAP Provide information on companies, markets and industries.  
Mergent Online Search by name and SIC to access company histories, annual reports and financial data for public corporations worldwide.  Also provides country profiles, historical stock prices and includes Moody's Weekly News Reports.  
Ref USA   This database provides company directory information including officers, sales volume, locations, phone numbers and websites and can be searched by SIC/NCAIS, by location or by company name.  Search for Individuals by name or by address in the Residential version.  
 
Encylopedias/Reference
Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos Spanish language encyclopedia with a basic A-Z arrangement.  Searching and results are in Spanish.
Gale - Virtual Reference Library A virtual reference library of over 20 full-text reference books or sets in many fields.  
Grolier Multimedia Online Online access to the "Dictionary of Art" and the "Oxford Companion to Western Art", that includes over 2,500 thumbnail art images and drawings.
World Book Kids  An elementary school version of the World Book with "kid-friendly" audio-searching and results.  It includes a dictionary, maps and pictures.  
World Book Online General encyclopedia for middle to high school students with special links to MA information and Massachusetts curriculum standards

Foundation Center Search This CD-Rom product provides expanded search capability for the Foundation Center's database of over 80,000 private and corporate funders.    
Foundation Directory Online Profesional Search 80,000 plus private and corporate funders, who provide support to non-profit organizations in the US and abroad. Entries include giving interests and restrictions and provide links to funders' websites and federal tax reports (IRS 990's)    
Foundation Grants to Individuals Online A searchable online database that contains information on more than 6,000 funders who provide support for students, artists, researchers and other individual grant seekers.    
 
Genealogy
Ancestry Library Edition An inclusive genealogical research tool that contains searchable records (military, immigration, birth, death, marriage, court , land and immigration) plus newspapers and periodicals, atlases, maps and gazetteers that go back several hundred years.  
Heritage Quest A genealogy resource that includes searchable census data, family records, local histories, tax lists, city directories, land and probate records, as well as birth, marriage  and death records and lots more.
New England Ancestors This New England Historic Genealogic Society database, searches by name in various types of historic records including vital, town, church, probate and court records.  
 
Geography
World Geography (ABC-CLIO) Search for countries as well as landforms and maps, and follow links to news articles, biographies and images for countries worldwide.

Gale - Health Reference Center Academic A full-text database of nursing and allied health journals plus general health information including a medical dictionary and pamphlets by national health organizations.
Consumer Health Complete Medical encyclopedias and reference books, searchable by keyword, provide information on conditions, diseases, prescription and non-prescription drugs and alternative therapies.
Consumer Health Complete & Salud Para Todos (Spanish) Spanish language version of Consumer Health Complete which performs simple and advanced searches in Spanish and provides Spanish translations of articles.
